  • Flare issues with old lenses? The simple optical design of the Elmar 5cm is prone to flares – this hood effectively blocks stray light from the side.
  • No suitable filters on hand? The old A36 clamp standard makes finding filters difficult. We integrated a 37mm thread so you can use common modern filters.
  • Worried about the front lens? The attachment made of technical plastic reliably protects the soft glass of the vintage optics from impacts.

Description

The Leica Elmar 5cm is an absolute classic but often suffers from flare sensitivity and the now exotic A36 filter size. We designed a solution that addresses both: a compact lens hood that simply slips onto the 36mm front ring. The clever part is the integrated 37mm front thread. This lets you easily adapt modern ND, UV, or color filters to your vintage lens. Made from durable PLA+, the adapter fits securely without scratching the historic metal.
